Galangin is a member of the flavonol class of flavonoids having anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative potential and might be a candidate for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Studies found an inhibitory effect of galangin on atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions and protection of dermal fibroblasts from H2O2/UVB-induced damage by activating TGFβ/Smad signaling and inducing collagen production.
