sh-Oligopeptide-2 or rh-Oligopeptide-2
sh-Oligopeptide-2 or rh-Oligopeptide-2 — (See Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) is claimed to stimulate cell proliferation and wound healing. As we age the levels of IGF decline and this decline makes the dermal fibroblasts less responsive. IGF-1 possesses the ability to stimulate both epithelial cells and fibroblasts to increase proliferation rates. It is considered to be the most important growth factor for anti-aging due to its ability to activate cell growth. There is also a study that indicates EGF and IGF1 work in synergy to promote keratinocyte proliferation. They act as chemical messengers between cells, turning essential biological activities "on"...
Sh-Oligopeptide-1 or rh-Oligopeptide-1
Sh-Oligopeptide-1 or rh-Oligopeptide-1 — (See Growth Factors) is also called Epidermal Growth Factor or EGF. EGF is a special snowflake when it comes to skincare as the molecule directly stimulates the proliferation of epidermal cells. It was the first Growth Factor that made its way into cosmetic products and Stanley Cohen was awarded a Noble prize in 1986 for it. Sh-Oligopeptide-1 has well-established wound healing and skin renewal properties. It might even do more than that. According to a 2012 study on a serum containing barley bioengineered epidermal growth factor, "clinical evaluations showed statistically significant improvement in the appearance of...
Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid — (See Beta Hydroxy Acid) Beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) are keratolytic and anti-inflammatory. Salicylic acid is an effective ingredient in acne products and is widely used in acne cleansers and lotions. They work by dissolving the top layer of stratum corneum cells (reducing SC thickness), improving the look and feel of the skin. Because it is lipid soluble, BHA can more easily reduce sebaceous follicle blockage by penetrating the pores and exfoliating the dead cell accumulation. BHAs are excellent for their ability to exfoliate around the orifice of the sebaceous follicle. It is antimicrobial and anti-septic. For the treatment...
sh-Polypeptide-14
sh-Polypeptide-14 is a bioengineered antioxidant peptide known for its ability to mimic growth factors that naturally occur in the skin. It helps in boosting collagen production and promoting cell regeneration, leading to improved skin elasticity and a more youthful appearance.
